PC Cases On The Market

Shuttle SX38P2 PRO

I have been trying to find a decent small form factor (SFF) case and all of the ones I have found seemed not up to scratch. Shuttle was the manufacturer who stuck out in my mind but their range have seem to cut down and there are reports that the bare bones version of the cases come with a really cheap power supply. They were the smallest cases I could find.

Going up a step from mini ITX’s to mATX, there were a lot of “living room” cases. Most of them were flat desktop style cases that look like a chunky DVD player. There were other shape cases like the cut down version of the tower cases and the cube style although the latter was quite rare.

Whilst I was looking for a SFF case, I looked at the more normal sized midi and full ATX cases and the market seems to have dried up. There doesn’t look like there are many innovation from the last 3-4 years since I bought my Thermaltake Xaser V. This raises the question of
“Are enthusiast buying from manufacturers nowadays?” or “Is the UK not that interested in building their own PC?”
