Codemaster Screw Up DRM?

I buy my games (like I usually do to support the developers as well as having a box) but the latest game I got just doesn’t seem to be worth it. I pre-ordered my copy of Race Driver: Grid by Codemasters. It installed and ran fine… the first time. Then after the game just wouldn’t load properly. I could see it in the task manager and when I try to start another instance of the game it would say there it’s already running.

Well I had to leave it there because I had an exam today and I just wanted to make sure it worked.

I came back and wanted to dive straight into it but it still had the problem. Doing the usual diagnostics I closed everything down, rebooted the PC and re-installed the game but it still wouldn’t start.

I sent an email to Codemasters (good luck to me with a reply) and posted in the forums. I had to shoot off to work after and when I came back other people also had the problem. One person had found a “solution” which was to crack it because it was the Secure Copy DRM which was causing the problem.

In the end like Lebike said in the forum an exe crack solved my problem.
