I have an electric underfloor heating in one of the rooms. It uses the old version of the ProWarm Pro Digital Thermostat. It has the usual controls for a non connected thermostat such as schedule and manual heating controls.
I wanted to replace it with a smart thermostat so I can take advantage of the Octopus Agile tariff especially when rates are below 0p/kW.
The system installed is a below 3kW heating element under the floor. It has a temperature probe buried underneath tiles which was not essential but useful and more accurate way of measuring the temperature.
Using Zigbee2MQTT device list, I found a Moes HT-002/BHT-006 from AliExpress.
It has more than enough amp rating and a temperature sensor terminals. I wasn’t able to remove the probe under the floor so I hope it was a compatible type.
The wiring was like for like so it was not too difficult. My setup was tricky because the wires were short.
The settings are fairly standard and presents itself as a thermostat sensor as expected.
The thermostat defaults to the built in temperature sensor which is located at the bottom of the faceplate. The default “Sensor vale is set to AL. To change this to the wired temperature probe, set this to OU from Zigbee2MQTT’s web interface.
A couple nice touches I like include:
A few nice to haves would be:
Overall, a good like for like replacement thermostat and compatible with my under floor heating system.
