SonyEricsson K800i No Sim / Battery Problem

I switch between my K800i and my Motorola Ming. The K800i is a great phone but it does have it’s problems when it comes to swapping sim cards in and out.

In order to take the sim card out of the K800i you need to remove the battery. Fairly standard for a consumer phone. The problem comes when it doesn’t let you access the phone without a sim card inserted. A dialog box appears and only gives you the option to go into demo mode. What I do is just leave it but when the battery is taken out to get the sim card, the time stops ticking on the phone. It does not sync back up once the phone battery is re-inserted nor does it sync when it is turned on with no sim card. This caused my 10:55 alarm to sound at 11:50.

How annoying.
