Linux Terminal Not Auto-completing

in the terminal is one of the most useful features in command line. Both DOS and Linux support autocomplete with the key . This is when you type part of the command or file name and press tab to complete the rest. This feature is called interactive shell in the Bash shell.
In ubuntu Bash shell I found it was turned off. Edit the file /etc/bash.bashrc and uncomment or add the following lines:
if [ -f /etc/bash_completion ]; then
. /etc/bash_completion
fi
Save the file and reload or close and re-open any terminals.
