Driving Test

An early morning for the nerve wrecking driving test. After having practiced for half a year I think I should pass. No No! I must pass. So the day began and i had an hour of practice from 8:00 with my driving instructor, Nick King. Then it was the test. I had a small old dude. Tested me eyes, they were O.K. Then we headed off towards town. I thought I did well in that. Then in the direction of Old Town. On route I had to perform a left reverse. Oh god did I fuck that one up! (excuse the language). Here is what happened:

I took off and drove past the road I had to reverse in. The road sloped downwards after the turn. This was alright at least it wasn’t and uphill reverse. I started to turn into the road and then i found out i put too much turn. Ahhh… Don’t panic and I moved it round the corner again and aligned the car again with more space. Reversed… STILL too much turn. This time it was the front wheels. It touched the curb but luckily the instructor wasn’t the one using the steering wheel. Third time lucky and i got it in. Right now that is over and done with only one reversing manoeuvre left.

In Old Town the instructor pulled me over of a very wide street with no road markings. He said “Right Danny. I want you to do an emergency stop… (Mike Tyson punches me in the stomach) …” Then I didn’t hear what he said. He did some hand gesture. “O.k.” I replied. Pulled off and drove down the wide road and then some stupid woman had to drive behind me this prolonged the butterflies. We turned off to a different road and he gave me the signal. *Brake… Clutch* phew. That went off without a hitch.

We headed our way back towards the driving centre and he made me do a few more things like “pull over in a safe and convenient manner”, etc. When I got back to the driving centre I had to do a bay parking manoeuvre. This was easy as the bays seem to be wide enough for a small truck. That was the end of that. Looked at the examiner’s sheet. WHAT! nice minor faults! got two for each mirror totalling to six faults. Oh well I passed!
