Stop Windows 7 Update Rebooting After Update

WARNING: Use this article at your own risk!


Open the registry editor:
Start Menu > Run
Type in regedit and press OK button.
Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU


On my machine stopped at Windows so I created new keys for WindowsUpdate and AU

Create a new DWORD (32-bit) value by right clicking on the AU key and selecting new.


Name the new key NoAutoRebootWithLoggedOnUsers and set the value to 1 by double clicking on the new value.
