I participated in the Game Hero challenge by MacMillian who support patients as well as families affected by Cancer.
In this write up I will be going through my equipment and setup and how it stood up to 24 hours of streaming.
If you want to donate, you still can https://gameheroes.macmillan.org.uk/fundraising/tsangdanny
I have a Furna E2 standing desk with a custom maple wood top. I was using the standing desk feature towards the last 4 hours in my 24 hour adventure to help keep me awake and also it meant I was able stretch my legs more without moving away from the computer.
The memory presets allowed the desk to move up and down to the same, correct position with centimetre accuracy and even during a game.
The other benefit of a standing desk is even if you’re not using it for standing, it allows the desk height to be adjusted to suit your chair height and / or body.
I’ve had this headphone for close to 10 years and it is starting to go on the plug end. I mention the age because it’s had plenty of time to wear in so the clamping force not too tight.
The velour ear cups are comfortable and best of all the open back meant my ears did not overheat. I have done the foam mod as well.
I use a ModMic Wireless to attach a good microphone for in game chat. It would be nice to have an integrated mic which did not require charging.
The chair is brilliant and supports the fact it’s one of the most ergonomic chair. I don’t have the best posture and I didn’t have any issues with back support nor sore bum.
The latest addition to the PC. It’s the lightest wireless mouse with the highest polling rate. The lightness reduced fatigue and the battery life lasted the full 24 hours with intermittent charging between breaks.
The charging dock makes it super quick and easy to quickly top up the battery.
I feel the challenge has validated to be as good as the time in researching and saving the money to get what I have wanted all the whilst for a good cause so please donate at https://gameheroes.macmillan.org.uk/fundraising/tsangdanny
